Salomon Quest 12 Alpine Touring Ski Boots 2011: Most skiers look at a mountain and end up going down it. You however, with the help of the Salomon Quest 12 Alpine Touring Ski Boots, hike right up and over the mountain. Built with the ability to change on the fly from a stiff downhill boot to a wa hiking boot, they are your ticket into the backcountry.
The backbone walk/ride lever uses a magnesium metal to improve power and transmission when engaged. The boot sole uses a contragrip traction sole for improved traction when walking and better durability which will keep you from buying a new pair every other year.
The flex rating is 120, so when they are not in walk-mode the Quest boots are stiff and responsive. The 101mm forefoot width provides quite a bit of room in the toe box. Salomon has used their pro model CustomFit boot liners which mold to your feet and feature Biovent technology to keep your feet warm and dry all day.
With the Salomon Quest 12 Alpine Touring Ski Boots there is a cuff release system that allows you to change from walk mode to downhill in seconds. When the boot is in ride mode the forward pressure plate pushes your knee forward giving you more control over your ski and makes you a better rider.
evo does not recommend using the Salomon Quest 12 Alpine Touring Ski Boots with Dynafit bindings.
